Colonel Edward ‘Tug’ Wilson (1921-2009)

Colonel Edward ‘Tug’ Wilson was an British soldier, adventurer, expert shot and raconteur. He shared his passions for horse riding, falconry and shooting with Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, who described him as ‘a pillar among the unshakeable pillars of the emirate’. Wilson was the founder and first commander of the Abu Dhabi Defence Force. For a full obituary, see the Daily Telegraph 3rd February, 2009.
